Personal Response
I thought that this story was extremely beautiful because it celebrated a special relationship between a young girl and her Abuelita. The illustrations were vibrant and warm and showcased the love they had for one another. They were able to depend on one another through difficult times and come out strong together. The book reminded me of the special relationship I had growing up with my grandmother and how much I loved going over to her house to spend time with her.
