Personal Response
I really enjoyed reading this text as it is very simplistic so that parents can read this to their children to teach them about their culture in words they can understand. For a personal connection, this book stood out to me specifically because my best friend is Jewish, so she has been able to educate me on about her culture and how it differs from mine.
Teaching Ideas
Following the reading, the students will be engaged in a series of different activities over the course of eight consecutive days, given that Passover lasts for eight days. For example, one day I would make a list with the students about the different foods Jewish people eat during this time and they can discuss their favorite through writing and drawing. For the next activity, I would bring in the Jewish treat, Gelt that I would then hide somewhere in the classroom for the students to find.
