Summary
A young boy notices that his eyes look different from everyone else’s at school after seeing a drawing a friend made. The picture leads the boy to feel sad about his eyes and he turns to his dad for comfort. His dad reassures him by telling him that his eyes are special and so is he. The boy realizes that his eyes are special and resemble his father, grandfather, and his little brother’s eyes.

This book is a beautiful book about self acceptance and differences and racism at an early age. It teaches students to accept people for who they are and not what they look like. It also teaches students that what they look like are special and makes them special as well.
