Despite me disliking hot dogs immensely, Musa’s enthusiasm for halal hot dogs is infectious. This portrait of a family and community that takes joy and pride in their identity and traditions is inspiring and is s great window into the culture of Muslim Americans.
Teaching Ideas
This book would offer a great teaching experience for a family and community unit. Families and communities differ immensely from culture to culture and what better way to celebrate that than teach about it during a unit?
