Personal Response

I really enjoyed reading this book because it teaches readers all about the Hispanic Culture in a fun and enjoyable way that also ties in learning about number identification. Although I do not have much Spanish background, this book has encouraged me to learn more about the culture and extend my knowledge of it.

Teaching Ideas

Following the reading, the students will be asked to bring in at least one item that represents their culture/heritage. Next, I will hide their items around the room and encourage the students to go searching for them. Once all items have been found, together, we will practice counting them together and sorting them based on the different cultures that make up the class.
