Throughout this book, we read about a young girl named Susan who goes through her daily live activities. She spends time with her Dad, goes to school, and engages in activity. She is able to do this with pure happiness and is your typical young girl living her life.

Personal Response
I love this book because it is a chance for children to read and think about what they do every day and how to just, “laugh,” through life and be happy. I think this book is great for making connections with childhood and family life.
Teaching Ideas
In my classroom, I would read this book aloud and have students do a compare and contrast activity of themselves and Susan. I would also ask them to connect on what their daily life is like and how they are feeling everyday.
