Personal Response
I absolutely loved this book. Aime created a lyrical, magical picture book to give little ones the extra support and encouragement needed to make a difference in the world and follow their dreams. I enjoyed the way Aime utilized ancestors encouraging the boy to follow his dreams, I thought it was a wonderful way to remind you to not forget about your ancestors and where they came from.
Teaching Ideas
A literacy activity that could be tied into this book after reading it as a class would be to have each student think about where they are from. This can be completed as a family project- the students get to ask their parents for pictures of their ancestrusal family members and they will create a family tree poster at home then write about where they are from in class. This would be a great way to get a home school connection!
